Oṃ- is a sacred/mystical syllable in Hinduism. As the ripened cucumber is liberated from its bondage to the creeper when it fully ripens, may Shiva liberate us from, for the sake of immortality. We worship Shiva – The three-eyed Lord, who is fragrant and nourishes and grows all beings. Urvārukam iva bandhanān mṛtyor mukṣīya mā ‘mṛtāt Oṃ tryambakaṃ yajāmahe sugandhiṃ puṣṭi-vardhanam Now days also sages adopt this mantra as part of their daily sadhana. You can find a lot of stories from our scriptures about how it has saved the lives of many. The powerful Mahamrityunjaya mantra was given by Sage Markandeya to Sati to save the life of Moon who was once cursed by King Daksha. This was given by Lord Shiva to sage Shukracharya and later it reached Shiva Puraan and 3 Vedic scriptures ie Rig Veda, Yajur Veda, and Atharv Veda. This is a powerful life-restoring healing mantra also known by Rudra Mantra, Trayambak Mantra, or Sanjeevani mantra. I am specifically writing about the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra as we all are going through immense negativity all around. There are many mantras and each has its own set of benefits.
